As with all insurance companies there are certain security requirements that must be met once a policy has been taken out. Some of these security requirements are things such as wheel clamps, hitch locks and alarms within the caravan.
Again these differ from insurance company and must be adhered to as in the event of a claim you will not be paid out the benefits of your policy. Your personal possessions in your caravan can be insured but some providers require you to list every item you want covering. Generally the smaller items such as jewellery etc will be covered on your home contents insurance. (Please check this as every insurance company is different).
Typically the type of cover that is offered for caravan insurance is theft, accidental damage, personal accident and public liability. There are other options available such as European use, accommodation cover, driver cover and many others. You should also seriously consider taking some form of critical illness cover as this provides cover against the unexpected.
